A Fresh Start
This homeowner envisioned a brighter, cleaner basement free from a mysterious musty odour. He received that and more. Finding and eliminating the source of the smell, I installed a new floor with high durability and low maintenance, providing peace of mind.

Baseboards and trim are where my attention to detail can really shine
I found mold under the old carpet.
I don't cut corners or use band-aids. With the owners permission we expanded the job a little bit to open the wall and make sure there wasn't a larger problem behind the mold.
After checking the insulation, wood, and foundation for moisture or mold, I sealed everything with Zinsser Mold Stop Primer, replaced the insulation and vapour barrier, and installed the drywall. We also decided to include an underlayment that provides protection against moisture and insulates the new floor.
Between coats of drywall compound, the floor was installed.
The painting went beautifully because the drywall repair was so smooth it was invisible.
